Attorneys Arrested on Suspicion of Misuse of Influence

According to the Center for Combating Economic Crimes and Corruption two attorneys were arrested in Chisinau for alleged misuse of influence - reports the "Novosti-Moldova" news agency. The attorneys undertook to defend two residents of Ialoveni accused of human trafficking. The Attorneys told to the accused persons' relatives that they can influence the court's verdict and to obtain their release from arrest for 2000 US dollars. It was ascertained that the attorneys received 5 000 lei, allegedly - for transmission to third persons.

The Attorneys were detained and declared suspected in commitment of a crime stipulated in art. 326 of the Criminal Code - "Misuse of Influence" (Trafic de influenta). At the moment the collection of all necessary evidences continues for transmission of the case to the court. The attorneys gave written undertakings not leave the place...

I'm not going to comment the aforesaid. At least until there's a final sentence of the court having come into force. By now it's just the news...
